Digital images, drawing, painting

I use either oil paints or ink pens to translate the creations within my minds eye into a picture.  My inspirations include the architect Antoni Gaudi, the French impressionist painters, Turner’s dramatic seascapes, art nouveau, art deco, nature, rock formations and exotic gardens.  The artist most influential to me is Claude Monet with his expansive Waterlily series which paved the way for much of modern art.

When painting I aim to give an impression of the scene and express the atmosphere, light and movement as it feels personally to me.  The level of detail in my work varies but I generally prefer to imply detail and allow the viewers imagination to complete the image.
