Ceramics
Sylvie Joly is interested in the relationship between form and surface and uses the properties of various glazes and clay bodies for decorative effect. Sylvie enjoys working with black clays and iron rich clay bodies. She is influenced by traditional Japanese and Korean ceramics.
She wants her pots to bring joy to the eye and hand of the user and very much hopes that her pots get used, rather than sleep on a safe shelf.
Together with Yoshie Prideaux, Sylvie can't wait to welcome you to their studio. They will both take part in Orleans House Christmas Shopping Weekend on 2-3 December 23 and Home of Modern Makers Christmas Pop-Up at Pittshanger Manor and Gallery, Ealing on 9-10 December 23.
In between face to face events, you can buy Sylvie's work online below or via Handmade in Chiswick. Some of larger pieces are also available at Thrown Winter Exhibition until 28th January 2024. If you'd like to be informed of any future selling event/exhibition, follow her on Instagram or email Sylvie to be added to her mailing list.
